On February 27, 2022, the Faculty of Bridge and Road Engineering held the 19th Student Research Conference and recognized and rewarded outstanding students for their scientific research projects at the Smart Building of the University of Science and Technology, the University of Da Nang.
The conference was attended by faculty members, students, alumni, and invited companies. The project evaluation board consisted of specialists and the participation of leaders of companies, the Department of Industry and Trade in Da Nang City, and Central provinces such as Quang Nam and Quang Ngai to ensure objectivity, fairness, and accuracy in evaluating research projects.
This year’s conference attracted 12 research projects with the participation of nearly 30 students divided into 2 subsession: Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence Subcommittee (6 projects) and Advanced Materials, Transportation Engineering, and Structural Health Monitoring Subcommittee (6 projects).
In the opening speech, Dr. Cao Van Lam, Dean of the Faculty of Bridge and Roand Engineering, stated: “To comply with the current pandemic situation and adhere to the Ministry of Health’s epidemic prevention and control regulations, the Faculty organizes the 19th Student Research Conference with a combination of both in-person and online formats, in which 10 projects will be presented in person at the conference and 2 projects will be presented online.” This year’s research projects were evaluated as highly innovative, and practical, with rich research content, reasonable research methods, and presented scientifically and thoughtfully. Especially this year, there was also a certificate of merit for the outstanding achievements of the faculty in guiding students in scientific research, and the award belonged to Dr. Tran Trung Viet.
